Rétroactive Music Library
Music as the active memory of the world
We believe in the power of music to tell the past, illuminate the present and inspire the future.
Our mission is simple: to create soundscapes that offer timeless musical experiences to those who listen, use and live them. Each track is a bridge between eras—a resonance of the world as it is, as it was and as it could be. We explore the textures of yesterday, the sounds of today, and the visions of tomorrow, always driven by quality, authenticity and emotion.
Our compositions are not mere accompaniments : they carry a soul, an intention, an echo of the real.
Two universes, one common standard of excellence
To meet the diverse needs of visual creators, Rétroactive is structured into two complementary labels:
Sound excellence in service of demanding works
Crafted for premium synchronization, RTAC is designed for advertising, film, fiction, and auteur documentaries.
Each composition is conceived as a standalone work of art, tailored to elevate visuals and stir emotion.
Analog or digital textures, grand or minimalist orchestration, raw sounds or sophisticated arrangements: here, sonic quality is non-negotiable.
RTAC is the choice of creators seeking to make a lasting impact and elevate storytelling through music.
Music that supports, enriches, and flows effortlessly
RTUN is our branch dedicated to continuous content: TV shows, digital media, short formats, podcasts, and reports.
Designed to naturally follow the rhythm of the image, RTUN offers a variety of polished, effective, and atmospheric tracks.
The balance is subtle: to support without overshadowing, to enrich without distracting. We favor immersive textures, evocative musical motifs, and arrangements that suggest rather than impose.
RTUN is the discreet yet essential soundtrack of the visual everyday—a trusted companion for all content creators.
A sonic legacy already woven into the image
Since its inception, Rétroactive Music Library has contributed to major works and campaigns.
• BBC – “Discover Unique Stories”
The track "Forget Everything" from the album “90’s Pop On The Moon” (RTAC / BMG PM) was selected to score this documentary series. With its blend of cinematic pianos, driving beats, and atmospheric synth layers, it added a nostalgic and dreamlike touch in perfect harmony with the narrative.
• CUPRA – “Are You One Of Us?”
The track "Driving the Synths", from “Driving The Synth Vol.2” (RTAC / BMG PM), was used for this campaign by the automotive brand CUPRA. Its energetic 80s synthwave feel, bold arpeggios, and analog pads enhanced the futuristic and assertive aesthetic of the film, underlining the brand’s mystery and determination.
• France TV – “En Terres Opposées”
The official theme of the show, aired on France TV and hosted by Karim Rissouli, comes from the track "New Kingdom" (RTAC / BMG PM). With its intriguing electro progression and immersive atmosphere, it perfectly captured the spirit of dialogue and exploration at the heart of the program.
These collaborations embody our philosophy:
every piece of music must become part of a narrative and amplify its emotional depth.
RETROACTIVE: Listen. Feel. Remember.
Because music is not meant to be consumed.
It’s meant to be lived.
